Rachel is a Senior Associate in the Corporate Department
Rachel advises on a broad range of corporate and commercial legal matters that may arise during the life of a business. From advice on formation, terms & conditions, partnership/shareholders’ agreements, corporate governance through to advising on business restructuring, due diligence and acquisitions/disposals.
Rachel trained and qualified at Stones, a leading practice in the South West where she advised individuals, local and national based businesses. During her time in Exeter, she advised on business structures & formations; dealt with corporate governance issues; prepared terms and conditions; LLP and shareholders’ agreements as well as drafting numerous bespoke agreements. Rachel also assisted on the sale of Newsouthgate Cemetery & Crematorium to the Westerleigh Group and the incorporation of the Ski Club of Great Britain. She advised and applied for UK and European trademarks for various businesses including one of the UK’s leading wedding shoe designers and manufacturers.
After 9 years working in Exeter, Rachel relocated to London in 2007. Initially joining a firm based in Islington she then became a consultant at Keystone Law. After 2 ½ years at Keystone Law she joined City Law in November 2011.
She has advised on numerous acquisitions and disposals of businesses operating in diverse sectors including pubs, hotels, care homes, dental sector; design and media, manufacturing, financial investment and property development. In 2009/2010 Rachel spent 5 months in-house at a firm, where she dealt only with acquisitions and disposals of dental practices. During her time at Keystone, Rachel also was seconded to Shanks Group plc to carry out due diligence in respect of an acquisition of the interests in private finance initiative waste management contracts and advise on the related acquisition agreement.
